I’ve always appreciated the clarity and focus that comes by creating a plan, doing the hard work, and seeing it through. I can’t attribute one singular moment that drew me towards financial services/personal finance. It was more of a culmination of exposure to financial topics such as economics in high school, fundamental business classes early on in my college career, and a serendipitous connection through a friend that led me to Macco Financial in the summer of 2015. Later that year I joined the MFG team as a marketing intern and was able to experience the multiple facets that exist working for a small business in the financial services field. During those first few months I knew that financial planning is where I wanted to position my time and effort for my working career. I went on to pass my Series 7 and Series 66 licensing exams in the summer of 2016 before completing another internship as an associate financial advisor. I ultimately joined Macco Financial Group as an advisor full time after graduation.

Financial Planning offers a unique vocational experience when performed at the highest level. On one hand you must be knowledgeable and competent in a wide breath of information, able to decipher information quickly, and apply experience and expertise to a given scenario. On the other hand, our work is extremely personal, guiding individuals and couples through some of life’s most formative decisions. Everyday I am reminded of this opportunity and responsibility. Ultimately this second aspect of the work we do is what drew me in. Working with people to develop a plan, set markers for success, and adapt and change that plan as life changes. This process is what I enjoy most about my work. The result is a clear vision for the future and the knowledge that when plans change, we are going to be ready.

Outside of work, my wife, Amanda, daughter, Mia, and I enjoy spending our time camping, biking, golfing, and working on home projects that always take more time than expected and always go over budget. We also enjoy time spent with our family members in the area and church family at Jacob’s Well.
